Annual Increment of 6.47 percent

I received this mail from the HR department yesterday.

Please find enclosed your Salary Increment Letter for year 2009-10.

In case of any queries/clarifications, please get in touch with your Manager.

I don't care about the increment. My salary is anyway much less that 6.47% won't make a huge difference. Things like these give me strength to carry on and never give up. Most of my friends are earning double than what I am earning right now but that really doesn't make any difference to me. There was time when I used to envy them but not anymore. Why? because I am doing what I love and enjoy!!

Last week I was reading a blog by Pamela Slim. She wrote a book called "Escape From Cubicle Nation". Its a book about all those people who want to start their business or are unsatisfied about their work in the companies they are working for. It's a nice blog with many useful posts. I was reading one of her blog where she has discussed the excuses people give for not starting their own business. I highly recommend her blog.
