Typical day in office
These are the timestamps of my typical day in office
7:35 - Cab comes to pick me up. I sit at the back seat in the cab, with no leg space and poor back support, our ride to office is no less than a torture.
8:30 to 9:00 - We reach office. Other cabs also reach office during this period. BTW our official timings are 8:30 to 17:00
9:00 to 9:30 - Login to my machine. Check GMail, Check the status of my sites, Check the comments posted on my sites, Check the Server Logs etc etc.
9:30 to 10:00 - Time to visit the World Class Pantry in the basement with Nikhil. With nothing good to eat we normally end up with Tea and Samosas.
Almost everyone in our office have their Breakfast in the Office Pantry. Most of them get up early and don't get time to cook/eat in the morning. Nikhil and I discuss things about our office people and world class work that they are doing. It is a great opportunity for me to see so many Telecom Engineers at one place and when we are done with Samosas we go back to our seats.
10:00 to 10:30 - I reply to the mails, I reply to the comments on my sites.
10:30 to 10:45 - Nikhil and I again come back to Pantry to eat Namkeen or Biscuits.
10:45 to 11:00 - I go to the Roof and enjoy the fresh air. I try to go there daily and sit there for some time. It relaxes my mind.
11:00 - 12:30 - Daily I spent time and ask myself why I come to office? Why do they pay me salary? With no answers in mind I shamefully accept the circumstances.
12:30 - 13:30 - We head again to the Pantry, this time for Mid day meal that we call Lunch. After lunch we roam around and spend some time at our "Adda".
13:30 - 14:30 - Again I think of doing some work, check official mails and try to find some quality work for myself but all in vain.
14:30 - 15:00 - Time for coffee and roaming around in office.
15:00 - 17:00 - I go to Pantry and play TT. This is the best time in office. When I play good TT I feel good, when I play bad I feel bad. I wish I had this similar feeling for my work as well.
17:00 - Time to go back home.
18:15 - I reach back home.
I don't know for how long this will continue. I feel like a robot now and loosing my senses. My life has become like a pre-programmed code that is running in loops. Sometimes I do enjoy this but this is not the way life should proceed.

It would be better if we get together and start our own company :)
Hi Ravi,
Read your typical day at office.........
Thought of sharing something positive with you.....
"Even at the worst there is a way out, a hidden secret that can turn failure into success and despair into happiness. No situation is so dark that there is not a ray of light."
Life can surely change - but efforts are required.
Ask yourself.......
God bless...

very much true. Thanks for sharing this.
Good One Ravi! :)
Sir
your posts will an eye opener for the people who are mad for geting placements
they just want jobs jobs & jobs don' want to know how much work at the industry they have to do
Either they wil be less paid or get fired by industry if people of today don' survive in harsh conditions of induatry
But Sir लोहे के पेड़ भी कभी हरे होंगे !!!!

Yeah, people are Mad about the placements. They don't realize that working in MNCs is same as compared to a Laborer breaking stones all day with low wages.
MNCs look for people who can do low grade work for cheap money. By low grade work I mean Maintenance, Testing, etc
I totally agree when you say that "working in MNCs is same as compared to a Laborer breaking stones all day with low wages". But its totally wrong to regard "Maintenance, Testing, etc" as low grade work. This totally shows your immaturity towards the IT industry.
I myself is totally in development and slowly moving toward being a tech acrh with one of the biggest brand in this world. but I never say that testing and maintenance is a low grade job. testing in itself is an art and not everyone can do it to perfection.
No work in this world is low grade. you can have learning value in everything, and show creativity leading to better solution in whatever you are doing be it testing or any damm thing in this world.
And its not your fault if you regard testing as low grade work, its what the general perception is. I have seen a lot of ppl having the same attitude as yours, and to tell you most of these guys develop code which a worst tester can rip apart.
Your post makes me think you are no different from the crowd.
