Going to school in the new session

I still remember the feeling of going to school in April. New session start during this time. I was always been average student, never focussed on studies or my essay. Whenever a new session starts I would start thinking and make promises to myself that this

In the wrong class

In my earlier post Now and then I wrote about my first school. I went there after more than 20 years, met old teachers. Saw my old classrooms where I used to sit. A lot of changed there, along with the usual charts on the walls of the classrooms the LCD screen also share some space with the blackboard. Everything seemed to be upgraded there. Kids studying there get introduced to the technology much earlier.

Today I will write about on incident that happened with me long long time back in the Junior Wing building of our school. In fact it happened on the second day of my school life.

Forgot to carry my Tiffin

I still remember I was in third standard when one day I forgot to carry my lunch to school but I was not worried. I never liked eating "tinda", "ghiya" and other such green vegetables that my mummy used to give me everyday for lunch. I was actually happy that day because I escaped the torture of eating my lunch. Mummy used to get angry if I carried the unfinished meal back home and it was against my morals to throw away food. So I had no option but to eat whatever I got. My favorite dish back then was chholey. I don't like it much these days but I loved eating it when I was small.

25 out of 25

The first and probably the last time I scored full marks in exams was 18 years back when I was in fifth standard.

It was 1991 and our teacher announced the result of the 1st terminal Maths exam. "Ravi Sagar! 25", at first I thought she is saying the total marks but when she gave me my paper I realized that I scored full marks!! I can never forget that moment in my life. I was sitting in the middle row on back benches everyone in the classroom was looking at me in an astonishment. I must admit that It feels great when you are in the focus.

Bicycle ride campaign to promote voting - 2009

Why Bike Ride?

It is the easiest and environmental way, no pollution, no hassles. Even if you don't have a bicycle, you can hire one from Delhi University Metro Station @ Rs 10 Only/- on showing your college ID card (they might keep a copy). The bicycles are available from 7am to 9pm. Quite a time that is to do our business.

Resignation

Today I have resigned from the position of the Secretary and the Executive Member of the Alumni Association of my school. I think I was wasting my time and efforts working for the association.

I am disappointed with the way things are progressing. I love my school and was extremely happy to be part of the school association but things are not good now.

There is a lack of transparency in the association and I my ethics don’t allow me to be part of such group.

Now and then

These are the two photographs of mine taken at the same place but at different times. Lot of things have changed since the last step I took out of this school. I am so glad to see that the primary school hasn't changed much. Apart from LCD screens on the classroom walls and drawings made by little kids, everything else is same.

What a dream

Just woke up couple of minutes ago. I saw a nice dream. I was in class XIth and was in school in the maths class. Teacher was teaching determinants, then something happened and I started chasing a friend of mine. He gave me a tough run. I chased him all the way from ground floor to 3rd floor of our school. I lost him when I reached the 3rd floor. I felt disappointment, but then I saw him on the 1st floor on the library side.

teechers

I performed in the play called "teechers" on 25th Jan 2009. The event was Aikya, the alumni meet of DLDAV Shalimar Bagh, my school :)

It was great experience. I have never did acting in my life, though I always wanted to do something like this all my life. Now I am feeling so good that I have actually performed on stage! It all started when Shweta Singh (2002 batch) contacted me to perform a play in Aikya. I loved the idea of a play, especially when the play in all about school life and teacher.

Meeting before School reunion

My classroom - XII B!!

Yesterday I went to school after almost 10 years and to my surprise nothing much has changed. I did not feel that I have come here after so many years. I went to my class room and it looked exactly the same as it was ten years back. The only change that I saw in the school was the ground, wow! it was so different, earlier there was plain dry empty land but now there are two Tennis courts and cricket pitch. I guess there is a swimming pool also but I didn't get time to see that. Anyways I will check the whole school on 5th Oct when we have reunion and I wish to see old pals.

DLDAV - Second meet on 5th Oct

Date: 5th Oct, Sunday
Venue: School

You better be there!!
Following the First meet held on 21st September, a Second Meet is going to be organized on 5th Oct. I missed the first meet but will surely attend this one. I just can't wait to go back to my beloved school where I spent wonderful years, the best days of my life. I think same would be true for many others. I love my school and cherish each and every moment I spent there. Whatever we are today and whatever little or big we have achieved till now in life is all because of the education we got there. DL DAV Model Senior Secondary School is certainly one of the the best schools in the city and we were lucky to be part of that school.
