Spice D88N - GSM/CDMA Dual phone
I bought Spice D88N on Saturday last week. I have an Airtel and a Reliance number.
The phone work fine. Dual mode work perfectly.
Pros
1. Dual Mode. Both the number are active at the same time
2. When a call comes it is written on the screen whether it is coming on GSM or CDMA number
3. You can make either CDMA/GSM your primary number. You can also keep one number active.
Cons
1. Music Player's output is not good enough
2. Dictionary is not good. Lack of words in the dictionary. When typing in caps all the characters in the sentences are in Caps and same is the case with small letters.
For example in my Nokia 6230 when you type a sentence it starts with Capital letter. When you press Full Stop the next sentence again start with Capital letter. This feature is missing in Spice D88n phone.
This phone is worth buying if you have GSM and CDMA numbers.
I bought this Phone from HotSpot for Rs. 7200, along with the phone I got free Bluetooth Headphone and and Aritel Connection.

my Spice D88n is having problem whwnever i tried to connect with any PC or laptop.No USB or Mass storage device found or modem.Before few days i was using net through this handset but when disconnected it was the last time.i tried to connect it with other PC and Laptop too but same problem no device installed or found.what will be reason or how can resolve this proble.suggest me.

This phone will give problems with the net. Just use it for talking! buy a smart phone with in build modem and use it for connecting to net. Preferably buy 3g phone!

i have problem with my spice D-88n GSM/CDMA dual mode mobile i.e. it is not accepting the GSM network, when we insert the sim it simply shows as EMERGENCY, another problem is it is not working in dual mode when we select dual mode it shows that " THE SYSTEM IS BUSY". Please give suggestion to my question, I will be waiting for your reply.

Spice D-88n is not preloaded with Opera Mini web browser and is compatible to GPRS/ GPRS / WAP/ JAVA.

The general profile of the mobile is discussed sofar. plz comment on the platform supported by the mobile and applications supported by the handset. From the documentation of the phone the java apppln and games are supported with jad and jar files. Plz discuss how to install these files to the mobile via sd card or bluetooth other than via internet.

Well i am using this phone from past 2 months, and firstly i have started this phone by using one CDMA sim then i put inside GSM sim after one month, and i am not facing any problem in this mobile regarding Camera, Music Player, Network signals etc. This is a very good mobile by Spice. I am very thankful for spice to bring this mobile in the Indian Market.

Single mode - Battery last for 2 days with normal usage.
Dual mode - Battery can finish in 1 day!

there was no setting provading on any telecom company
i have a Windows Vista system.
I was able to connect to the internet on an xp machine using an airtel connection and my phone d88n but the software refuses to make a new connection in Vista. Please help me.

I also have this problem, it doesnt work with GPRS, though I was able to connect to Reliance internet :)
I had been able to configure this on winxp sp2, but as soon as the autoupgarde loaded to sp3 it is not working anymore.
I used it on Reliance CDMA connection. GSM was not working from the first day, even though Spice support said that it works.
Also there are many inherent problems on this phone, basic features even dont work like sometimes like receiving calls and SMS messages.
Final verdict : DO NOT BUY unless you want to waste your money.

Hi Friends! This is Srinu, I was Purchased D-88N in November 2008. The phone is looking good but comes many more problems in it. I have face lot of network problems in it.
I bought D-88n, i want to synchronise the phone with the outlook express so that i can transfer the phonebook from my older handset which i had already synchronised.
Since there was no software which came with the handset- i am wondering can any one help?

From where you want to copy the phone book? From other phone?
Even I don't know how to do bulk copy. There is no Software provided with the phone, but I will search for some third party software.

It is bad phone for internet. There in build browser is not good and Opera is too slow. If you want to download images etc then use data cable. I don't know how to install softwares. I tried installing on software from the net but the phone stopped responding.
I bought this phone mainly because it has dual phone option that is the best thing. Other features like mp3 player, Camera are decent.
