Let me show you my #mpd and #ncmpcpp config files. I am quite happy with my setup, I use symlinks to manage my music and use ncmpcpp to also modify tags and delete songs.

I have setup simple shortcuts to control the music playback of songs on mpd. Let me show you how I do it.
