I Accidentally deleted everything

Today I accidentally deleted all the files from my website. I don't know what was I thinking when I did this, I felt ashamed and was terribly embarrassed to myself. How can I do such a silly mistake. All the blogs that I wrote, all the configurations that I did, all the images that were stored online, everything was gone.

I deleted only the files not the database. I was thinking of uploading the fresh Drupal files and reconfigure everything. Which would at least bring back the blog that I have been writing but not the photographs and re-configuring website is a cumbersome job, but luckily I didn't have to do it.

I have my site hosted on Dreamhost. After deleting the files I quickly wrote an SOS mail to their Technical Support. They told me that they take regular backups of the files in the Snapshots and there is an option in their Control Panel to restore the files to the recently taken backup. I did that and within few minutes my site was back up running like never before.

My website had a near death experience and so did I.
