North Delhi - Naini Lake - Model Town

Yesterday I went to Model Town for some work. I have been to this place many times before but yesterday I thought of paying a visit to Naini Lake in the heart of Model Town.

The lake is really nice and well maintained. The moment you step inside the Lake complex you start feeling nice and it is actually a place where you can come in the morning or evening and relax.

Fishing at Naiki Lake

The guy on left is Gaurav, he lives in Malikpur, a village justr adjacent to Model Town. He comes to Naini Lake regularly to catch fish. Initially I thought there wont be any fishes in such a small lake but to my surprise there are lot of fishes in there and some are quite big too. Gaurav told me that it is not allowed to do fishing there but he usually comes here to catch his meal :) He was not using any fancy hi tech equipments. He was simply using one string with "atta" as the bait. Man he is lucky!

Joggers Paradise

The lake is surrounded by a track where you can jog or walk. People living near the lake are very lucky! You can also try boating here. It will cost you around Rs. 50 for 30 mins. Not bad! Actually a nice place to Date. Close to nature right in the city.

You can come to visit Naini Lake by Delhi Metro. Just come to Model Town metro station and walk. It is hardly half kilometers from there.
