Yesterday I watched the social network at Fun Cinemas with my wife. Overall the movie was nice, I would say it was good actually. My wife got bored totally and kept asking me questions like what is Napster? What is Monetizing the site? and are these characters real or fake? Most of my time in the movie was spent explaining her that yes these characters are for real and the story too I guess.
Good thing is that before the start of the movie ate chicken momos with spicy sauce and my cough and blocked noses got cleared and I was able to hear everything clearly after that :) (so chicken momos with chilli sauce is cold killer)
The movie started with this guy - you know who. He created this site to match the pics of girls and how he got them from downloading it from different student's online directory. I was actually happy to see that he was using KDE! Cool. I like it. That portion of the movie was not gimmicky at all, unlike those super hacking movies like Italian Job and Die Hard 4. When the site goes live it bring down the server, that was little funny. I don't think servers of Harvard University can go down with fee thousand hits.
Rest of the movie showed the different lawsuit that he faced. You can read the whole story here
The movie is a good time pass. Especially for IT students, they can relate to lot of things.
