Let us go through the updates from the @atlassian ecosystem #TeaWithRavi #AtlassianUpdates #AIAMA #Codegeist2023 #IncreasedSLAGoals #AtlassianAnalyticsGoogleSheets
Codegeist Unleashed 2023
Every year Atlassian runs this hackathon called Codegeist where developer from all across the global can build an app. Every year there is a theme and this time it is AI which is no surprise. Unfortunately we at Sparxsys never took part in the hackathon because we hardly get any time which is also good but I know lot of developers from various companies and even individuals do take part every year. You can check the details here.
Virtual agent and AI for Jira Service Management
Atlassian is conducting an AMA (Atlassian Ask Me Anything) and this session would be on Atlassian Intelligence. I think sessions like these are win-win for everyone. If you are a consultant or an organisation look forward to use Virtual Agent or learn more about it then you should consider joining this session. Also for Atlassian they will get feedback from users. You can register here.
Increased SLA goal capacity in projects
I am happy to see plenty of improvements in the JSM domain and this time it is around SLAs. It is still EAP but it seems like sometime in future we will have the ability to have lot of more goals and with this update it will be easier to manage the SLAs. For instance if you have goals based on priority in the JQL then you can reduce the number of goals by grouping them by priority. I would love to try this feature soon. You can check the details here. There is also a video on this page showcasing how this would work.
Atlassian Analytics and Google Sheets
I have mentioned this before and I will say that again, I don't have access to Atlassian Analytics because it is only available for Enterprise customers which is fine and I know Atlassian Analytics can be a game changer because reporting in Jira has always been you know below sub-standard. At Sparxsys we do lot of work around eazyBI to help our customers create wonderful reports. In case you already have Atlassian Analytics you would be glad to know that now you can bring in data from Google Sheets. I have done similar stuff using eazyBI to bring in Tempo rates from a Google Sheet or REST API. You can read about it here.
Video of the week
Surprisingly not many people know that it is not impossible to get all the issues and its subtasks under an epic easy. I made this video showing this.
