Atlassian Updates - JWM Premium, Training.Sparxsys.com, PlantUML and LaTex in Confluence

Let us go through the updates from the @Atlassian ecosystem from last week. #JWMPremium #SparxsysTraining #TeaWithRavi

Jira Work Management Premium?

I never there will be a premium version for JWM with more features but here it is. If you go to the JWM page on the Atlassian website you will notice some new features like Overviews and coming soon features like Approvals, Admin insights, Sandbox and Release tracks. This is good stuff and I will keep an eye on this and let you know once I know more.

Training.Sparxsys.com is now live

We were working on this since last year. We have finally launched a portal where you can buy courses on various Atlassian tools and apps. Apart from that we will also be releasing live trainings, webinars and 1-1 sessions. We have our first course Jira Fundamentals up and running which you can purchase right now. We are working on the following courses right now.

  • Guide to start your Atlassian Career
  • Mastering Jira Software
  • Mastering Jira Service Management
  • Mastering Jira Work Management
  • Mastering Jira Cloud Administration
  • Mastering Jira Cloud Automation
  • Mastering eazyBI
  • Mastering Advanced Roadmaps
  • Confluence Fundamentals
  • Mastering ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud
  • Mastering ScriptRunner for Jira Data Center

Yes, that is a lot but we are dedicated now :) Whilst we are working on these paid courses, you can always take my free courses on YouTube.

PlantUML and LaTex in Confluence

I haven't done an app review in a while now and there is a good reason for that. I have very few favourite apps that I use a lot and also recommend to my clients but as part of my work as an Atlassian Consultant I often have to review, try and evaluate other apps. Usually those apps are very specific like providing integrations but from time to time I do encounter some really good apps that are worth reviewing. There is an app called "Markdown, HTML, PlantUML, LaTeX, Diagrams, Open API, Mermaid" which will let you insert PlantUML and LaTex within your Confluence page. I use both of these format heavily in making my training content, books and diagrams in general. You can try this app here if you want.

Video of the week

I have lots of videos on Jira REST API in my free course and I am always interested in trying the new REST end points. You can now also create a dashboards and add gadgets to it. I have started exploring these end points. You can check this video here where I showed how to retrieve the dashboard and in this video explained how to create one.
