Transition Jira issue from Confluence using Smart Links
Using Jira macro you can insert Jira issues within a Confluence page. It can be used to display list of issues or charts for basic reporting. Also a single issue can be inserted in Confluence. This is a one really useful feature of Jira macro because you can also see live status and other updates to fields.
Now you can also transition the issues from within Confluence page and embed the Jira issue view. So basically you don't need to leave Confluence to update issues. You can learn about this update here.

Object Schema Templates for Assets
Having a CMBD functionality in Jira Service Management is amazing especially when you want to implement ITSM in your organisation with assets. You can create various object schemas and configure those however it is not very simple and to get started properly you might need help from a consultant. Last week I saw this announcement about three new object schema templates - IT Asset Management, People and Facilities. I think this is a good move and have these templates will help organisations trying to get started with JSM + CMDB.
Schema can always be modified later but with these templates initial hurdle can be overcome. You can read about this here.
Jira Align improvement and new navigation
Atlassian recently announced some new additions to Jira Align. There are improvements in the integrations and APIs with a new Jira connector APIs, Azure DevOps integration, tracking, planning, forecasting and more. You can read about it here. Create Jira issues from Confluence
Confluence Automation which is available in Enterprise and Premium plan is getting more features. Now you can create Jira issue as well. This is interesting and opens up lot of possibilities to help team collaborate better. You can read about it here.

Last week I went out to make couple of videos and made this video about Jira training. It is very important to educate your users but there has to be a balance between doing the most perfect training vs getting things done. People often forget that Jira is a tool that helps organisation collaborate efficiently and delivery. Rolling out Jira is not the end goal. You can watch the full video here.
