Time to go through important updates and news from @atlassian ecosystem.
Twitter' Jira went down
We all know twitter and lately it has been in news. Last week Twitter's Slack and Jira was down. Slack confirmed that it was not a maintenance and Jira came back up after a day or two.To be honest I have absolutely no idea why Jira was down along with Slack. Some people told me that they are on DC not Cloud and it is unlikely that the outage was due to some problem with their server or application. May be Twitter is rage quitting Jira and moving on to something else? :) Who knows?
You can read about this news here.
We all love ScriptRunner for Jira, as a Jira admin it makes our life so much easy to do not only extreme customisations but also get the most out of Jira. When writing script using you basically have to use Jira Java API and it is not really simple for most new people trying to learn or use ScriptRunner. You need programming background, Jira Admin knowledge and also Java API experience. It takes time. What I believe HAPI will do or at least Adaptavist is claiming it will do is to help ScriptRunner users save time and write code quickly.
It is not any AI based solution that will write the code for you but instead it will give you some ready made methods or function for doing common things like create an issue, update an issue and so on. I anyways use my own methods to do that but so new ScriptRunner users it will definitely help them. You can read about HAPI here.
Video of the week
On my channel I not only talk about tools but also share my experience and help others who are trying to build their careers in this field. I made a video where I shared the pros and cons of working for an Atlassian Partner.
That is it for this week.
