Time to go through the updates from the @atlassian ecosystem - #EnhancedJiraBoard #CustomDomainsJSM #BitbucketComments #TeaWithRavi
Enhanced Jira board
We all have been complaining about release all the nice features on Jira Work Management like various views and inline editing. I am extremely happy to see similar features on boards of Company managed projects. The Enhanced Jira boards were announced earlier this year and I believe Atlassian is now rolling it out. If you get the option to try it out you will notice the following nice features.
- Inline car editing: Update issues details directly from the backlog
- Improve epic and version panels: Get more details
- More filters: Some out of the box filters
- Higher performance: Smoother interactions
- More key changes: other improvements
You can read about these changes here.
Custom Domains in JSM
Finally Atlassian has announced the open beta for supporting custom domains in Jira Service Management. This is super exciting and will help lot of organisations who are concerned about their brand identity. Almost all the companies I worked with in the past asked me the possibility of having a custom domain. As a work around they use a url like domain.com/support or support.domain.com that you redirect to the JSM portal which was not ideal. It is good to see this getting released soon. Read more about it here.
Improved Bitbucket comments navigation
We at Sparxsys use Bitbucket and it is quite good because of smooth integration with Jira. Collaborating with other has become a lot easier now a days when you need to review the code. Within Bitbucket you can add comments which can be resolved once an agreement has reached. This feature will improve the way you can find the unresolved comment. You can read about it here.
Video of the week
Last week I tried the new whiteboards feature in Confluence and I must say I am quite happy with whatever I tried. I love the integration with Jira and how easily you can create issue links from the whiteboards. Really useful. You can watch the full video here.
