POSSE on ravisagar.in
Recently I came across this post from Dries that also inspired me to change the approach I follow to post on social networking sites. I post a lot on twitter, linkedin and facebook and I also aspire to write blogs regularly on this site which never really happens but I try and have been blogging actively for 10+ years now but sometimes I wish if I can post more. Posting content on socials is easy as you don't bother too much about the grammar and you don't think a lot when posting but when you write a blog you have a tendency to give your blog some structure. The whole idea of POSSE - Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere is to post the content on your own site where you own it and share it to other sites. So the content stay with you. You control it forever. So here is the plan…
In an attempt to streamline the content that I want to syndicate to social I ended up reading a lot about Zapier and IFTTT. I actually had an account on both for a long time but never utilized them fully. Read the following article to know more about both the services: https://tallyfy.com/zapier-vs-ifttt/
Never knew that you can disable the Off side, injuries and other rules in FIFA 18. You learn something new every day.
Trying to make it work but for some reason it is not working. May be I need to configure my RSS feed in slightly different way.
Just setup IFTTT to auto post content from my blog to my twitter feed. I am doing this using the RSS feed. Let us see how it works.
In the morning in the train going to office and explaining my friend Jasvinder ther difference between Bitbucket pipelines and Bamboo. Today in the morning I started creating these short posts called "notes" and the idea is the post the content first on my blog instead of social sites but of course the content if needed can be shared on those social networking sites.
I have a problem - I live a lot in past and worry even more about the future. People say it is not a great way to live you life but I think there is nothing wrong in it. I reminisce a lot about what happened in the past, cherish the old memories and most important I analyse what happened in the past to make informed decision about the future. To be honest it is all about being happy and my past experiences teach me a lot about how and why I did thing that I should or shouldn't have done. Today I wanted to write about what I was doing, my state of mind and my dreams 10 years, 20 years and 30 years ago. 2008 I was quite new Alcatel-Lucent, was still trying to figure out what will I do there. It was a big change for me. Coming from Kaplan which had a small 70-80 people office in Okhla phase…
Do you follow a daily schedule?
In the past 1 year after moving to London my daily schedule that I have been following was quite disturbed. From time to time I used to tweak my schedule depending upon my availability, travel and work. However the only constant thing that never changed in my schedule was waking up early. I have been waking for at 4 AM for a long time now and it has working really well for me. I have written before about the benefits of waking up early. I had to give up watching TV serials and following a strict schedule through out the day but last year I was not entirely happy with my schedule so this year I have decided to take control and get back in discipline. The whole idea of this self organization is to learn new things that interest me and help in my career as well. My biggest two skill set…
Recently I started doing some research on understanding the genesis and wanted to understand more about it. After spending few days going through online articles and lot of youtube videos I came to the conclusion that I was partially involved in doing or following it DevOps for a many years. Wikipedia says Devops "is a software engineering culture and practice that aims at unifying software development (Dev) and software operation (Ops)". So basically it is to bring together developers and operations team (who manages infrastructure) and that is done with the help of some tools to automate recurring tasks. Of course the intention here is to reduce time. Take a look at this video below to understand what is DevOps Also this video which describes DevOps even better. Do we care about…
Everything is easy
How true is that statement? Very often I come across people who have opinion about everything and they look at things from only their perspective. I just don't understand why can't people keep their opinion to themselves unless someone is asking them.
